Mobile Apps

Add Focused Functionality, Mobility and Data Control

Who needs another app? Maybe You Do!

There are over 7 million apps available for android and iOS devices combined! So why do we need more apps? Particularly in a B2B environment? The answer is simple Focussed Functionality, Mobility and Control

Three big benefits of mobile apps are;

  • Focussed bespoke functionality - Mobile devices have functionality that extends and enhances the desktop app. An excellent example is using built in mobile device cameras to read barcodes and QR codes.
  • Mobility, mobility and mobility - You can take your custom software out into the retail shopfront, the factory floor, warehouse or on service calls. Where necessary the app can be configured so you can work offline.
  • Control of the user data. It's pretty simple, if you own the app, you own the data. Generally, control of user data is more of an issue with B2C apps, however, an increasing number of suppliers also want to track the behavior of their B2B customers.

Extending Cenversa's Online Ordering Platform

Stage 2 of the Cenversa Online Ordering project was to add mobile apps to extend the desktop ordering functionality.

Piapp's approach was to create a mobile app that integrated directly with the desktop software. So all the ordering functions available on the desktop version were available on the mobile app.

We then added Barcode and QR code scanning functionality for both ordering and stocktake functions. This existed in an open session structure that allows multiple mobile devices to simultaneously provide input to the same order or stocktake.
